Where to watch the World Cup in central London?

Ideally I would watch it all at home: I can sit down, see the screen, no queue for the bar, very little smoke, no one stands on my feet, the only person spilling beer on me is me. However I also have to go to work.

I work near Trafalgar Square and all my work locals are all pretty horrid. What would be a pleasant venue to watch the football in central London? Are there any outdoor screens?

There's a pretty big outdoor screen at Canary Wharf. Went by there today and there were a lot of people milling around watching it, and there was a clear site line (and large speakers) so you could sit at a few different patio/bars and watch as well.

Not exactly central, but it's not THAT far.

Thanks for these suggests.

Hunching over my monitor isn't quite what I had in mind but the screen at Canary Wharf would be ideal if only Doclands was a bit nearer.

I've just discovered the 7 - 14 June issue of Time Out has a section on where to watch the football so that might be worth investigating.
