Getting Flash/Macromedia in intel based IMac

Recently bought IMac and find that using Firefox, I am not able to see lots of things that requi9rte flash/macromedia. Tech guy at Mac said I could download and use the newest version with Mac's default browser, Safari. He is right. But I prefer Firefox. Is there a way I might use flash on firefox? Or, if not, how to traswfer bookmarks to Safari?

safari has an "import bookmarks" command under the "file" menu.

Flash works fine for me in both Firefox and Safari on a Macbook Pro. I'm using the preview at this link.

If that's not working can you point to a site that doesn't work for you?

As I understand it, they don't have the plugin completely working yet on Intel macs. So it wouldn't matter whether you were using Firefox or Safari.

One workaround I've used is to set a browser to open using rosetta. Then it can use the old PPC plugin.

Adobe does not have the Flash plugin working perfectly on Intel Macs, for whatever the latest Flash version is, and they have said that they will only have full Intel support in the next version of Flash.

However, like edd says, they have a "preview" (read: beta) version available for download. This works fine in Firefox but, of course, has some bugs, so your browser may crash at times. The deal with "it works in Safari" is that the beta version of the Flash plugin includes the PPC code as well--so if you run Safari in Rosetta it will use the stable PPC code instead.

Response by poster: On my question: I am not even sure what Rosetta is but my son worked with tech guy and we can now get YouTube on Safari but when I tried in Firefox, I get note to do this and that...I am also told that the problem is not with all Macs but only with the ones now using the intel chip. But I can now get things by switching browsers so life goes on for me...and thanks to all you good people out there!!!

Rosetta basically translates PPC binaries to the Intel processor.

I'm running on a MacBook Pro w/ Firefox and haven't had any issues. Could you please post an example link?

Indeed, like zerokey, and as I said before, I've had no problems. I've just tried YouTube and it works totally as expected in Firefox.

Still, if you're happy enough as it stands then it's maybe not worth the effort of finding the real source of your problem.

Hmm...I can load it just fine. (and I had a hard crash last night and had to do a fresh install, so I'm running clean)

Wait a sec...a few questions to help track it down: are you getting s pecific error message? If so, what is it? Do you have the NoScript FF extension installed? When you browse to the page, do you get any info messages anywhere on the screen?
