Touch Tone Type?

TypeFilter: What specific typeface is used on most touch tone phone buttons? Is there a comparable free version out there?

No need to include those fonts with boxes and button shapes around the numbers.

Bell Centennial and Bell Gothic?

I have Sony and GE telephones that use Univers Condensed Italics.

Mr. Six, I think he means the font on the buttons, like this dialpad.

I can't find it though, and it's not Bell Centennial or Bell Gothic - those were for phone books. Nor is it Hawthorn, which was the font for the Western Electric logo. Hrm. I'll ping some telco buddies.

Response by poster: You think it would be easy to find such a recognizable font, right?
