Was this actually shown on TV?

It looks rather fake (especially when the two folks suddenly appear between the vehicles). Also, though it was barely a quarter syllable, the voice-over at the very, very end sounded a lot like Conan O'Brian.

And with the laughtrack, I imagine it was a spoof.

The original CBS video, without the border jumpers. As to whether the altered version was picked up and broadcast elsewhere ... ?

Love how the tagline for the site you linked to is "News you won't find on CNN" -- that's 'cause it's freaking fake!

Welp. The laugh track and the voice over are all from the Daily Show. If you look at the bottom right, it says Daily Show. I wish they hadn't spliced in those people moving between the trucks, it would have been a lot funnier.

It actually says "Early Show" (CBS's morning program), not "Daily Show".

A comment on YouTube claims the clip is from Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Best answer: OK... the clip is on the Jimmy Kimmel website, so the answer to your question is technically "Yes, this was actually shown on TV".

The Kimmel site has weird navigation. Scroll to the right, and the clip is currently on page "16-20".

I buy the Jimmy Kimmel story. Everyone's right that the early show is a CBS program, but since the ABC logo is also on the lower right, and Jimmy Kimmel is indeed a late night ABC show, it makes sense.

I gotta start previewing these things.

Response by poster: Thank you, Lazyweb. I smelt that TV broadcast aroma, but it was too good to be true(ly un re-touched). Props to ewagoner and SeizeTheDay.
