Hi8 to DVD - easiest solution?

Looking for a USB capture device/software package for transferring all of my Hi8 home movies to DVD

I'm not looking for anything fancy. I just need a simple USB capture device that comes with some simple software for making DVDs. The device must be external USB (no All-In-Wonder cards).

I recently purchased Pinnacle Studio 500 USB, but had to return it. First of all, the software was very unstable and crashed often. Also, it would capture fine for some time, then in the middle it would capture black and white only, then maybe come back to color. Very strange.

Has anyone had any recent experience with any USB devices like this? What about the software? I'm not looking for fancy effects or anything. I just need the ability to click "Start Capture", play my Hi8 into it, stop the capture an hour later, set auto chapters (every 5 minutes or so), and be able to burn it to DVD.
