For years I've been trying to find a copy of the theme to "The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn" a US import which ran on the BBC during the 1980s. Any ideas? [half remembered lyrics inside]

Did it ever appear on a soundtrack?

No but that's a help. On the actual page at Amazon it says:

"In all honesty though this is far from the best adaptation of Huckleberry Finn. That honour goes to a mini-series starring Canadian actor Ian Tracey called Huckleberry Finn and His Friends. You may remember it from numerous BBC repeats in the mid 80's. At 26 episodes long it is by far the most comprehensive and, arguably, the most evocative and accurate screen adaptation of both the Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn novels. Sadly it has yet to be released commercially on either video or DVD. "

Which is sort of the rub...

I don't remember this show at all, even though I was 8 at the time and it appears to have been shown on one of the two channels I got at the time (CBC, in 1980). I must have been watching the other channel or out building a raft.

(Ian Tracey is now on DaVinci's Inquest, which is a great cop show from Canada.)
