QOSfilter: How to set up QOS on Actiontec Router

Help me set up QOS on my Actiontec GT701-WG. I get the basic gist of what QOS is supposed to do, but I don't understand the technicalities of setting it up.

The router has QOS settings for incoming (up and down) and outbound (up and down) and this is the part that confuses me. I'd like it configured such that web traffic has a higher priority than bittorrent traffic.

SECONDARY QUESTION: Is there some global master scheme to keep QOS documentation off the web? *Good* doc links welcome.

This is confusing. "Up" and "down" usually refer to "outgoing" and "incoming". What does the documentation say? I was gonna suggest that it's an upper and lower limit on throttling, but that doesn't make sense either.

There's tons of documentation on QoS, maybe not particular implementation that you're using. Check Linux advanced routing and traffic control out for instance.

Response by poster: The documentation for this unit is pathetic. QoS isn't even mentioned.

Thanks for the link.
