Looking for the perfect rack/stand/shelf for the home theatre equipment in my living room. Specifics inside.

I recently picked up a new coffee table, a new 42" LCD HDTV (black), and a media unit for the TV to sit on.

I have more electronic equipment than will fit in the media unit, including a few items that run warm (stereo receiver, tv computer), so I'm looking for some sort of open case (if I wanted a closed case I would probably get the companion unit to the EQ3 media unit I bought) or shelf to put next to the TV.

Something like this might be nice, but I need a unit in black to match the things I already have. The Elements Audio Tower shown here might be good, but my local Circuit City stores (Los Angeles area) don't carry it.

Any suggestions? I'm sure the perfect thing is out there somewhere, but I'm pulling my hair out trying to find it.

Oddly, there's good stuff at RacksAndStands, including this, which seems to fit your description.

I'll probably find something I like on that site. Any other ideas from anyone?

I've been pretty happy with Intermetro wire racks, myself, but I have a whole lot of gear: a LD player, DVD player, AC3 decoder, RF to optical AC3 bridge, CD player, receiver, the other receiver, and a whole bunch of game consoles. If you have a somewhat more modest rig, you can buy fewer and smaller shelves.

I think he Intermetro stuff is great. It comes in a chrome or black matte finish, is quite cheap and fairly adjustable. It's easy to go behind it with a fistful of zip ties and tidy up or hide the cabling.

Admittedly, wire shelving is not to everyone's taste.

I've used Restaurant Equipment Store for my Intermetro rack purchases in the past, and been exceedingly happy with their price and service (though not the horribly-implemented online store, which is basically just a dump of their titanic inventory database with some "buy it" buttons).
