In search of Appel Witbier

Where can I find Floris Appel Witbier in Southern California?
The old distributor, Merchant du Vin, stopped carrying it but they told me that someone else is doing the importing. I know that it is available for import directly from Belgium but I'd like to get it on tap or in a store. I'll also take recommendations for other tasty fruit ales. I already know of Lindemann's collection but find them too sweet sometimes, and this was great.

And yeah, Lindemans lambics are the least traditional you're likely to find over here. The cassis is particularly good without being too sweet, in my opinion, though. I don't think the Floris Appel is a lambic, though, so you're kind of talking about two different things?

Response by poster: kcm: I just find that when I talk about fruit beer, they're always the first to come up so I thought I'd get it out of the way.

try Unibroue's Ephemere - brewed year round with different fruits - currently out in Georgia with green apple and black currant. It is not sweet - but retains the fruit flavor.

I don't know where you are in SoCal, but give these folks a try. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will surely have something comparable.

What I really meant to say was: "Give these folks a try. If they don't have what you're looking for, they will surely have something comparable."

Give Belmont Station a call. If they don't have it, I bet they at least know who the new distributor is.
