Men’s button shirts, short or long sleeved, quirky

I’d like to buy my husband some affordable men’s shirts for him to wear to work. Dress code is business very casual so I’m interested in quirky prints. Both long sleeved and short sleeved options are welcome.

Husband is tall so long sleeved shirts must have a tall option.

Prints can be quirky and fun but I’d like to avoid anything inappropriate for the workplace so nothing political, sexist (ie pinup girls), drug references, etc.

We are in the US so please suggest things that can be shipped easily to the US.

Please suggest items that don’t require ironing, starching or dry cleaning.

My guy wears a lot of Bonobos button-ups, which come in the staid professional colors as well as some fun prints: short sleeves, long sleeves. He's 6'2"and they fit him well.

Bonobos is a good idea. Jcrew has some "quirky" stuff if you filter the shirts by "floral" and "graphic." This link should have that.

Seaplane has some fun options.

Affordable is relative, but RSVLTS meets your other criteria.

Bill Murray's clothing line definitely has the quirk.

Response by poster: For the record, RSVLTS is just about perfect but the price point is a bit high - I'd be tempted to get one if someone shares that they have actually worn them and like them.
Seaplane is definitely more than I'd like to pay.

Additional factor: my husband works in a lab and while he does wear a lab coat, there is always the possibility of spills that stain/bleach; so really expensive stuff is not practical.

OK, if Hawaiian/tropical is your thing, try Tropical Bros.

Sadly they don’t seem to have any “quirky” options at the moment, but for future reference or if you’re looking for secondhand options, Old Navy has some great prints in their men’s shirts. I am a cis woman but have a few fun printed button downs from the ON mens department (toucans, baboons, loud florals) despite the suboptimal fit because I loved the prints.

Check ASOS. Don’t have any specifics because they have a ton of items. But I am a woman who oft buys quirky prints.

Seconding Old Navy. I've got button downs with: crabs, octopuses (my favorite), chameleons (my daughter's favorite), and watermelon slices. Those are all short sleeve button downs, though, so perhaps it tends towards summerwear for them?

I've also occasionally found an interesting print at Lands End, but it can be hit or miss. They tend to be more subtle, like a navy shirt with a tiny bee print on it, or these shirts with tiny crabs or pineapples.

These will not be your everyday shirt (too spendy) but if your husband needs a quirky fancy camp shirt, my tall husband swears by Tommy Bahama big and tall.

Mr Epigrams has also had success with finding quirky prints at Land's End and Eddie Bauer on occasion.

For inexpensive, seconding keeping an eye on LlBean and Lands End. Seems like they have something not-plain every other season or so.

If you don't mind vintage/thrift, Ragstock! They're bursting with quirky printed men's button-ups every time I go, and things are constantly on sale. If you don't have a physical location near you, they do sell online, but I'm not sure what that experience is like--a quick browse showed some fun patterns though!

Bonobos often have pretty good sales, and their tech and stretch every day shirts are pretty fool proof. (And take a beating, we are not kind to them in my household and they are holding up well).

The slim& long fit should work well for your case. But again, not the cheapest shirts, although they do seem to last better than others.

(Other brands will have boring tall slim shirts, bonobos and J.crew are the only fun ones that hold up to “fun business casual”)

I'm a great fan of print buttonup shirts and have a collection that is probably too large - here's where some of my faves are from:

ambsn (Fun beachy vibes)
Simons (More low-key/abstract patterns. Canada-based, but they ship to the US)
Morningwitch (Lots of cool nature/reptile/insect patterns)
Carmico (I love the patterns from them, although the shirt quality is a bit thin/stiff)

I also nth the Old Navy recommendation, they usually have some great shirts when I stop in - carrioncomfort I have that same octopus shirt and it's also my favorite haha!

Simons is a really good idea.

I have a paisley shirt from Cremieux at Dillards that I get complements from strangers every time I wear.

In the realm of "awesome but probably too expensive", enjoy browsing Robert Graham
