Best answer: Yes! Absolutely! Eggs are a great source of protein for kitties. JUST NOT RAW, which this question clearly states is not the case.

Response by poster: Thanks cooker girl! I did google first before I asked, but the google results I got were 50% it's safe and 50% it's not safe, so...

Yeah, cooked eggs are fine. I have a boy who loves him a soft-boiled egg (seriously, he once tried to walk along my arm to get one I was holding at arms length, and he weighs 20 pounds), and he gets an egg for his birthday.

Anecdata on cats and eggs - we’ve fed our cats a raw diet which includes a not insignificant amount of eggs (2 eggs for every 3 lbs of chicken) for going on 9 years and our cats are thriving.

(Not trying to weigh in on the raw vs cooked piece, just providing a data point that our cats eat a lot of eggs and are very happy campers)

Feral cats (and really everything, even herbivores) eat eggs.

Had a cat ate fried eggs o the regular, but only over-easy, a broken yolk would result in the whole egg being dragged from the bowl to the trash can.

My cats loooooove hard boiled eggs. The sound of one getting cracked is the most exciting thing ever.

Yeah the risk of salmonella is quite low but lots of vets advise against raw eggs. Cooked eggs are always okay!
