How would you make hot dog fingers?

I want to go as Evelyn w/ hot dog fingers from Everything Everywhere All at Once for Halloween, but I'm stumped on how to pull it off. I'm pretty handy/crafty so I'm looking for any and all good ideas. I already know about the A24 gloves but those look like crap, so I want to make my own.

Two ideas that have come up so far: buy some kind of flexible tubing that would fit over my fingers and paint to match my skin tone. Or perhaps create a silicone mold ?? (this is one idea that's pretty far outside my skillset, but I'd be willing to give it a shot if I could get great results) I am a Halloween costume perfectionist (see last year's award-winning costume) so I'm not afraid to spend some time on this.

Mini pool noodles? Flexible silicone tubing comes in a variety of interior diameters.

If you're willing to sew, you could make long gloves that would accommodate the tubing over your fingers.

Best answer: Per this interview, they were made out of silicone, so if you want to match as closely as possible, do a mold. You might need a couple of these kits to get enough material, but it seems pretty doable.

Go to a cigar shop and see if they can give you some cigar tubes with rounded ends. Glue them to the fingers of a rubber glove and paint it to look like skin and hot dogs. Or, just paint the cigar tubes and attach them to your fingers with double back tape or something.

They won't be flexible like if you used tubing but they should look good enough.

(Oh, for the actual mold-making, I'd use latex gloves, fill the fingers with molding gel, then stick your hands into them and let the silicone ooze out over your palms. You'll need to blend the results with your skin, but it should work! I think!)

These Stretchy Caterpillar Toys would, I think, give you the right flexible rubbery effect. You'd want to trim off the hair and then put them inside some overside gloves. You'd need to figure out a way to transition from your fingers to these finger extensions.

(Originally linked back out to the A24 version, which you’d dismissed - apologies.)

I wonder if you could use some of this foam to shape a finger, glue it to a glove, and paint the whole glove/foam combo with silicone and paint to get the right colors. It's light, reasonably flexible (though maybe not as wobbly as the hot dog fingers in the movie), and seems like it could get you pretty close pretty fast.

I linked to the internet warehouse version, but have gotten similar foam at my local Home Depot/Lowes.

I don't have a solution to your question, but I'm watching the answers carefully because I am hoping to go as Deirdre the IRS agent and hot dog fingers would be an extra bonus.

I can't link right now, but check out the silicon moulding tips from the crafsman on YouTube.
I think you could make a custom mould!

My suggestion would be to buy (and I swear I'm not shilling, just things I have had great theatre/costume experiences with):
  • Skin-toned silicone/gel finger caps
  • Mehron modeling putty or Synwax
  • Mehron liquid latex
  • Mehron face-and-body paint for color matching
