Deep-Soul Compilation With Long Title

I have a vague recollection of a compilation album of obscure, regional-label '60s-'70s soul/r&b music.
Long album title, sad songs, mostly or entirely music from the American South, probably a tiny record label, there might've been a sequel. Not released by Numero Group, Now-Again Records, Mississippi Records, or the Oxford American. I realize this isn't much to go on, but it's what I have.
