Movie ID Request, early '80s Edition

In '84, I saw the tail end of a movie on VCR involving some heist or crime plot and (I believe) an East Asian lead actor playing martial-arts competent protagonist, but without a lot of fighting on screen.

I believe the bit I saw was an office building and it seemed like some crime had taken place there, with the protagonist being unfairly blamed. Police were on the scene. I remember two distinctive bits:

1) A discussion where the protagonist said he couldn't have opened the safe without the combo, because it would have taken 3 days to get through all the numbers. A detective looks up the combo and points out that, in fact, it would have been solved in 6 hours (or some feasible number) if he'd started at 00-00-00 and worked his way up.

2) Some weird thing where the protagonist is adding quarters to a filled-to-the-brim coffee cup without spilling any liquid.

As I said, I saw the bit I did in 1984 and it didn't look old, so I'm assuming it's early '80s or late '70s.

I believe, but am not certain, that the lead character was East Asian but the other characters were White.

Best answer: Adieu l'ami/Farewell, Friend/Honor Among Thieves has safe cracking, coins being added to a nearly overflowing cup, and… Charles Bronson?

Response by poster: That has to be it. At least I'm 99% sure. I vaguely recall the gunfire scene in the preview too. No Asian actors AFAICT, much earlier than I thought, but still. Thanks!
