Recommendations on battery-operated fans?

I am expecting power outages in the next summer or two. Lanterns are taken care of. But I am thinking of getting a couple of battery-operated fans. Have you used any?

Not quite what you asked, but when I travel in the summer, I take my Muji USB mini desk fan, which I LOVE, and plug it into a portable power bank.

Several power tool companies make fans that run off of their batteries, and Ryobi even makes one that can mist when set on top of a water-filled bucket, creating a sort of swamp cooler.

This may be a bit unusual, but if you already have battery-powered power tools like cordless drills and whatnot, many of the major brands like DeWalt have fans like this one as part of their lineup, and so you could get a fan like that. The great thing is that the batteries are swappable—charge up spares and swap them they run down.

Best answer: I have this one (it was a different brand when I bought it but clearly all coming from the same factory) and it seriously will run like 40 hours on LOW, and it will run plugged into a power bank as well.

If I was going to buy one right this second specifically for my tent/awning when camping, I really like the form factor on this one.

Best answer: This fan has a handle that splits so you can hold it or sit it on a flat surface. The battery is recharged via a USB cable so you can charge if from a laptop, power bank, or wall socket with adapter.

The biggest selling point I can think of is that I know several menopausal women who would recommend this above anything else (and certainly any other fan) for keeping themselves cool when they're flushing - it's quiet, has 3 power settings, and lasts for hours on a single charge, plus you can stick it on your desk when you're working (or watching TV or cooking or whatever) but carry it around with you when you're not.

If you have Ryobi batteries, then this fan is really worth it. You can use the tool battery or plug it in when you don't have power outage. We take it camping and it has far exceeded what other battery-powered fans have been able to do

Response by poster: Thanks for your input. I don't have any power tools yet, so I'll stick with regular batteries.
