Seeking a simple, well designed calendar app.
Single entry assignments, maybe short notes, definitely reminders. What do you have?

I'll echo TimHare that if you're looking for a calendar app, the Google app on Android can't be beat.
I also pair it with Todoist. It's not a calendar app, but it does the other things you're looking for, and can display all your items as a calendar if you assign dates to them. There's also GMail integration, if you do choose to use Google as your primary calendar app.

Another option isn't exactly a calendar app. It's Colornote a note/checklist app which also has the ability to put a note or checklist on its calendar, and supports reminders as well. I really like this app for what I use it for - primarily checklists. It's simple but very effective
