Radio play about excessively welcoming Unitarian church meeting?

At least 10, maybe 15-20 years ago, I heard a skit (radio play) about a Unitarian church holding a meeting. There is some point at which the meeting leader acknowledged people who don't believe, or believe in nothing at all, and he otherwise acknowledged made up/whimsical belief systems.

I don't recall much more about this skit other than that it was really funny.

Best answer: I don't have something specific, but this really sounds like something from A Prairie Home Companion.

I had the exactly same thought, this sounds like A Prairie Home Companion for sure.

Ditto, and it feels like it could have been a theme that featured in dozens of different skits on PHC

Fourth-ing. PHC made jokes at Unitarians on the regular. As a UU, I felt seen.

Best answer: Transcripts are spotty, but you can search scripts on the PHC website for "unitarian".

Nthing PHC but also that is a perfectly normal UU meeting.

Probably not what you're looking for, but you might also like Unitarian Jihad which has very much the same theme. I judge a Unitarian church meeting on the extent to which it successfully holds the widely different beliefs* of its members as a feature not a bug.

This may have been part of Will Franken's comedy podcast. He had a bit like this in his live show.

How does a Unitarian walk on water?
