We know about the Millennial Whoop. We're all sick of the ukulele and glockenspiel. This is the sound of your new truck. But I must have more. Is there anyone keeping a TVTropes-style compendium of commercial musical clichés?

If not, will you please contribute your own candidates as answers below?

I'm not sure what to call it, but the vaguely song talked, no real melody, out of tune, and there is male and female version of it. The latest example would be the "GoogleFi - A Phone Plan that can" commercial. it's awful.

Trailerizing,” […] grabs people’s attention because while they might know the lyrics, the tempo or arrangement of the song throws them off. “It’s called ‘trailerizing’ a song,” Monaco says. “That means changing every aspect of the song but leaving the lyrics. People know the lyrics. The goal is to catch people’s attention. Maybe they’re not paying as much attention to the trailer, and they start to hear the chorus of the song, and they go, ‘Wait, I know this song.’ They start paying attention, and now they’re watching the trailer.”

The Clearmountain Pause is a big one
(The podcast Pitch did a great episode about it, unfortunately the audio is no longer online but here's a transcript)

I've noticed that a lot of ads are now using music that is almost completely dominated by percussion/drums with minimal melody. The only example that comes to mind is this Kyleena commercial, but there are definitely some others like that airing right now.

I swear a good chunk of the EDM I listen to has a sound like an elephant trumpeting in it somewhere. Probably not what you're looking for :) (The most obvious is, of course, "Elephant" by Domastic).

You bet! In fact, TVTropes has a list of commonly used music snippets, although it's sorted more by type of music and chronologically than by usage.
