Does anyone know where to get an inexpensive (legit, no happy ending needed), but decent, massage in Chicago? Basically, the same question as this, but in Chi.

I've had the Chicago School of Massage Therapy recommended when I was looking for a cheap place - the students give the massages, so it's a cheaper price. I haven't tried it yet, though I seriously was just looking this up yesterday because it's time for me to get in.

Also, I don't know the price - but they do mention "affordable" in the clinic section, which is where all the information is.

I go to the Metropolitan Club Fitness Center ($85/hour). I don't think that's in your price range. I've seen Minute Massage places around town, and those are very legit, and relatively cheap. I gave my secretary a gift card and she loved it!

I've heard great things about Thousand Waves Spa at Belmont and Racine, but it's a women-only place. Maybe they can recommend another place?

Or, what about the Division Street Bath House? Saul Bellow wrote about it in Humboldt's Gift...

For the women, I'll second Thousand Waves Spa -- my wife has gone there a couple of times and raves about it.

I've gone to the Chicago School of Massage Therapy before. You can get student or professional massages, I think it was like $45 for student and $65 for the professional, for an hour. I did the professional one and they did a really good job, listened to what I was looking for and concentrated on the bits that needed work the most.
