Where to stay in Nashville?

I'll be making an unexpected trip to Nashville shortly, and am wondering about places to stay on a very tight budget, preferably near the Southern Hills Medical Center. Plus, I don't drive.

You may already know about this, but if you are visiting a seriously ill child, the Ronald McDonald House in Nashville is a low cost option. My guess is that they might also have local advice if you don't mind calling or emailing to ask.

I'm posting this on behalf of a MonkeyFilter Nashville local who's not a member:

Southern Hills Medical Center has a website with lodging options here.

Pear Tree Inn (part of the Drury Inn chain) is about a mile from the hospital. They're no longer offering hospital rates, but in talking to the front desk, they do have a special this week for $49.99. See if you can get a cheaper rate online first, then call.

No shuttle service, and a taxi would run about $5-$7. Here's the bus schedule.
