Help me find Karaoke in MD.
I don't live in Maryland but I will be visiting there soon (Rockville) and I'm trying to arrange a Karaoke party remotely. I want to find a karaoke bar where 6-10 people can rent a private room. We will want to drink (it's not important if they have drinks or we have to bring them in).
I have found it surprisingly difficult to find information about this on the web. My searches have turned up lots of karaoke DJs for hire and some equipment sellers, but no already-set-up places. We're willing to travel within the MD/DC area to get there.
Any suggestions for places or strategies to find them welcome!

You could also look up more places in the Washington Post's Nightlife section.
This
seems to be exactly what you are looking for:
The front windows of this business have neon lettering in at least three languages:In some it's called Mia Casa, in others Ijing Music Studios. Whatever you call it, it's karaoke the true Asian way, say itsmanagers. Here's how it works: Small rooms line a central hallway. In each are a couple of couches or easy chairs, a table, aTV and a remote. And a black light. And black-light wall murals featuring Egyptian figures, the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney OperaHouse--you name it. You get two microphones, along with a couple of percussion instruments and a tune book. It's $30 perhour for your group to hang out in your personal Luxor lounge and wail "China Grove" all night. You can bring a tape along orbuy one for $3 to record the performance. Management says Ijing Music Studiousually gets a big rush of customers after the bars close. Shocking.
