Can you recommend more Lone Wolf and Cub-type tv shows and films?

I'm really into this trope but am most interested in watching media from this century, and prefer English as opposed to subtitles.

I've delved into the 70s and later iterations of the Ogami Itto stories. I'm pretty much completely obsessed with The Mandalorian, and have noted and enjoyed the many similarities between it and Sweet Tooth. I'm also currently watching The Bad Batch, which is very similar to The Mandalorian in that it basically replaces one Lone Wolf Space Dad with 4 Lone Wolf Space Dads, and one Grogu with one Omega. I love it. I also recently watched a film called Cargo, which is also very LWaC.

While typing this it occured to me that I haven't watched any other Star Wars / Dave Filoni animated series to see if the whole LWaC trope is his thing, because his stamp is all over TM and TBB, but I'd rather see live action than animated if possible so probably not interested in any more animated series or anime in general. Thanks for any help.

If you can track it down (it is probably on youtube) a New Zealand movie called Starlight Hotel might work. Also maybe Hunt for the Wilderpeople?

The Tom Hanks film Road to Perdition (based on a Max Allan Collins graphic novel) is a direct lift of LW&C, transplanted to the 1930s gangster genre.

Cormac McCarthy's novel The Road (as well as the 2009 film adaptation) is all about a solitary man pushing his young son in a shopping cart through a dangerous post-apocalyptic wilderness. I've never seen McCarthy specifically state that he was inspired by having seen or read LW&C, but the parallels seem quite obvious.

The X-Men movie Logan makes a lot out of its parallels to classic Westerns like Shane, but it's also kind of a LW&C analog: Logan/Wolverine is positioned as a man of deadly violence who becomes responsible for protecting his biological daughter (and ultimately sacrifices himself for her) in a cross-country journey to safety.

Looks like TV Tropes has this one covered too, it includes all of my examples and dozens more: Badass and Child Duo

Some recent action movies: Birds of Prey, Gunpowder Milkshake, and maybe Space Sweepers (which would fall in the "four wolves" category).

I don't know how you feel about older movies and ones fronted by women, but Gloria (1980) starring Gena Rowlands is this trope with gangsters. She was nominated for an Oscar for this.

A recent update of this was Proud Mary with Taraji P. Henson. It's...not great, but it's very good looking and it's always fun to see Taraji kick asses and take names.

The Witcher, although season one is largely leading up to that premise, but season two is coming out soon.

Seconding Gunpowder Milkshake on Netflix.

Check out this absolutely lit cast: Michelle Yeoh, Angela Bassett, Carla Gugino, Lena Headey, and Karen Gillan (Nebula in the marvel movies)
