Recommendations for classical guitar music books with tablature

I am interested in sheet music books with a range of short guitar songs from beginner to intermediate level, that help build technique. Should have emphasis on fingerpicking, not as much chord strumming. For an example of the kind of music I'm looking for: Etude in E Minor by Tarrega. I lean toward Aeolian and Phrygian tunes. Ok if it has standard notation but must also have tablature. My local music stores don't have much on their shelves these days, and searching the web is too vast!

Best answer: A useful search phrase is "guitar classical music tablature". By default classical guitar will be in standard notation, so just adding "tablature" gives you more possibilities.

I found 50 Classical Guitar Pieces By Joseph Harri and several other choices by that search

Best answer: A Folksinger's Guide to Classical Guitar, by Harvey Vinson. As the title suggests, it's pitched at guitarists who have already have a little experience with fingerpicking in folk and pop styles. There are 44 tab transcriptions from the classical repertoire, with an emphasis on Spanish composers, Tarrega included.

Best answer: Hal Leonard music publisher is a good place to start for any sort of guitar transcription books, and, sure enough, they have at least one book of classical pieces, arranged for guitar, with tab. That leads you to this book, 50 Great Classical Guitar Solos, which looks closer to what you seem to want, in that it seems to have excerpts form the normal repertoire (Sor, Tarrega, etc), with tablature.

You may find more, searching around their site, searching the Web for other books by the arrangers of the above two items, etc.

Response by poster: Thanks all. I ordered A Folksinger's Guide to start with and will check out the others as well.
