What movie is this from?

All I can remember is a break-up scene between a young man and woman, in a restaurant booth, I think. She is a native Spanish speaker, and says something like "I just need some more space" -- she pronounces "space" with an e in front of it, like "eh-space". He replies "I can give you more space; I'll give you all the eh-space you need", reflexively (or maybe jokingly?) imitating her pronunciation of the word space. Any ideas?

Do you recall roughly when you saw it (even just the decade?) Do you recall if you saw it on TV/in the cinema? Did you see it in the US, or elsewhere? It will help the hivemind to narrow it down.

Response by poster: All good questions -- sorry for not providing that info. It's an American film, and I'm reasonably certain it was made in the last 10-15 years. I saw it on DVD, I think sometime between 2010 and 2018. I think it was a romantic comedy, although it could have been a drama with comedic elements.

Could it be the Salma Hayek/Matthew Perry rom-com "Fools Rush In"? I don't remember that specific line, but it fits with the tone.

I'm pretty sure oh yeah! has it right.

Response by poster: Ok, so my wife also remembers this scene, and is sure it's not Fools Rush In, which she has seen multiple times. She says the movie we're thinking of is a lower tier than Fools Rush In -- but I don't think so low that it was direct to DVD. It's also more recent than Fools Rush In by at least 8 years.

Other clues: I remembered the actor in the scene looking like Colin Hanks, she thinks it was Adam Brody, or someone who looks like him. Also, she says this particular scene was in the trailer.

Best answer: Just to save anyone time scrolling through IMDB and watching Adam Brody movie trailers -- my wife suddenly figured it out

Thanks for helping jog our memories!

Response by poster: PS The movie is probably terrible. I don't remember any of it besides these two lines, which we use regularly. I was specifically interested to find it today after seeing this: https://www.facebook.com/etymologymemes/posts/317252729764451

Best answer: For search purposes, the correct answer was In The Land Of Women, right?
