Question: What was the woman in the sample Photoshop image in the early 90s named?

It was a rolls-off-the-tongue two word phrase. The photo was of a Latina woman with a basket of fruit on her head. I believe her last name was Moire.

Kind of a dumb question but it's been bugging me for years.

(I don't know whether this is superfluous - it would be "Olé!", like the stereotypical latin exclamation; "No Moiré", meaning there are no interference patterns between coloured dots in this picture. Rather than anyone's name, I mean.)

I'm also guessing that the file name is probably a reference to the absence of the Moiré effect in the image. That was much more of an issue in digital images of the time than it is now. It's not like Adobe to put a model's name on a reference image, either.

This is just one of many images you can find of models dressed as an over-the-top version of Carmen Miranda, who was famous for her elaborate hats, and the hats with fruit became a sort of visual shorthand for the perceived exoticism of Brazil and samba music.

This photo was an image for calibrating computer monitors in a shop that does color-correction. The lack of interference patterns and moire were exactly what we needed for sharp results.
