Question: A Raccoon, A Rabbit, and An Owl

Help me identify an old animated movie that involved a raccoon, a rabbit, and an owl.

When I was growing up (late 80s early 90s), I used to watch this animated movie whose main characters were a raccoon, a rabbit, and an owl. I don't remember much else about the movie except these two scenes:

* Somewhere in the beginning they walk down a staircase in a treasure chest to a different "world"

* Somewhere near the ending they pass by a place that is full of coloured Easter Eggs

This was my favourite childhood movie for a long time, but I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. For a while I thought I hallucinated the whole thing, but then two years ago I watched a Christmas TV show that had the same characters, but in CG. (Plus a wolf that had to choose between his wolfy instincts and his values, or something like that.)

Does anyone know the movie I am talking about? Help resolve this childhood mystery.

No, not that; the movie had nothing to do with Lassie, and there weren't many (if any) humans. Also, the settings were more fantasy-esque; LRR seemed to be rooted more in reality.

Could it be Baby Comes to Mapletown? I've never seen it, and it doesn't list an owl, but it has a rabbit, a raccoon, and a wolf.

Definitely NOT Totoro because (a) this movie was English (b) I only watched Totoro recently. Baby Comes To Mapletown doesn't look right...

The wolf is in the CG version but not in the movie I'm thinking of.

Could the Christmas show have been A Christmas Adventure from a Book Called Wisely's Tales? (Boy, what an unwieldy title.) It's computer-animated and features, among others, Wisely Owl, Rock 'n Raccoon, Honey Bunny, and Wolfpack Leader.

The title seems to imply (to me) that there are others of "Wisely's Tales," but I can't find any other references to it or the characters, in book or tv/movie form. So if that is the right Christmas show, it might just resemble the movie which you seek, rather than be directly related to it.

alyxstarr: YES! That's the one! Thank you!

Too bad about the no-other-references thing...but that's a good place to start, at least.

*still wonders if shes hallucinated the movie*
