I am not sure its the same thing, but this may be it. posted by 517 at 8:51 PM on March 26, 2006
Many of the locals here wrap their sheshes (scarves) in imitation of the Tuareg style, so I can confirm that the link that 517 provided is very close, but it deviates slightly in step 4. Instead of making any knots, after you bring it around to your left shoulder, just keep going around your head, turban style. Make it pretty tight, almost uncomfortably so. When you reach the end, just tuck it in.
Also, the tagelmoust has to be longer, and the material isn't as heavy as shown. That allows for many wraps around the head without looking like a mushroom cloud.
Not that anyone cares, but the reason why they imitate Tuareg styles in Morocco is for tourism - people love the romance and mystery of the "Blue Men." However, there are no true Tuaregs in Morocco. Just fake ones, like this, this, and this. posted by Liosliath at 10:10 PM on March 26, 2006
