Salux on a stick

I want a long handled back scrubber with a scrubby part like a Salux cloth. No luffa, nylon poofy scrubby, or bristled one. Does such a thing exist and if not, any idea how I could fix an actual salux on the end of a wood handle?

Best answer: For affixing, this is a relatively simple job for some twine and some lashing. I'd use hemp twine because it constricts a bit when wet, has good grip, and lasts well in wet/dry conditions (like boats). For this application a few clove hitches spaced an inch or two apart and a constrictor knot at either end should allow you to have both a firm attachment and also some fluffiness so that you get scrubbing action. It should hold fine for the life of the cloth if you do it nicely with one piece of twine.

If you decide to do this and need further help feel free to MeMail me.

Best answer: I imagine you might want something like this long-handled lotion applicator so there would be some surface area at the end with some give to it. You could fold the Salux around the applicator part and tie or rubber band the ends together at the base or at the back, or you could sew a little Salux pouch to slip over it. A Salux glove might have enough tension to hold itself on there.

Best answer: I bought a regular old long handled bath brush, wrapped a Salux cloth over the head, and tied it down with a big band-aid around the handle just below the brush part (could easily have tied a few wraps of twine instead). The brush head creates the necessary surface area, and the bristles provide just the right amount of "give" to accommodate the non-flat topography of my back comfortably. It feels like the fingernails of angels and I'll never willingly go back to a regular back scratcher again.

"Band-aid"?? Rubber band. No idea where that typo came from, I hadn't even started to get drunk yet.

Best answer: Something similar definitely exists -- I have a Korean italy towel one on a plastic handle (although I don't recall ever seeing them with a wooden handle). You might have luck searching for "Korean italy towel handle" or something of the sort. Or if you have a Korean grocery nearby, you could check out their home goods section.

I did a quick search and found this Amazon listing (I have not purchased/used this specific product before). Koreans call our equivalent of Salux "italy towel" or "ttae-miri" (ehh something like that). It isn't exactly the same texture as Salux as it tends to be a closer weave but shockingly effective at exfoliating and sloughing dead skin; more so than Salux which I use like a loofah. Good luck!!

I can vouch for the Italy towels (I have the ones you slip over your hand). They are much more effective and less painful than the salux cloths. I have been using a long salux to get my back by holding the ends and sawing it back and forth, which leaves much to be desired. That back scrubber Sums linked (thank you!) looks amazing and I'm going to buy it.
