Quotes/songs/books/movies about couples taking the long road?

It was a complicated journey but we’re finally together. I’m looking for sweet or poignant or inspirational media about people who took a complicated road but ended up happy and permanent. Thanks in advance!

The movies Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, when viewed in order, are my favorite example of this.

A book is media, right?
A town Like Alice --a novel by Nevil Shute...
An English gal gets stuck in then British Malayan peninsula during WWII. Captured by the invading Japanese, she crosses paths with an Australian prisoner of war. After the war, well, read it, it is awesome.
I am told there is a good mini series about it, and maybe a movie?

Michael Chabon, 'The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay'. It's a commitment, but really worth it.

Tamsin Muir, "The House that made the Sixteen Loops of Time"

arguably the movie A Very Long Engagement, but she's really the one putting all the work in

The Office's Michael Scott, re: his eventual wife Holly:

"I didn't find the perfect moment, because I think today was about just having today. And I think we are one of those couples with a long story when people ask how we found each other. I will see her every now and then, and maybe one year, she'll be with somebody, and the next year, I'll be with somebody and it's gonna take a long time. And then it's perfect. I'm in no rush."

John Prine and Iris DeMent, In Spite of Ourselves if you don't mind that it's sweet in a down and dirty way.

The Five Year Engagement. It's a little rocky, but Emily Blunt, Jason Segel, and Alison Brie make it worth watching.
