What games should I get for my moto e5 play?

I recently vastly expanded the storage space on my moto e5 play (128 free gigs?? Inconceivable!!) And I'd like to add some games for casual play.

I love RPGS, dungeon crawlers, strategy and tactics, metroidvanias, that sort of thing. I haven't played any mobile games really, so I'm open to old games too.

I'm willing to pay up to like.... 20$ for the absolute best games. I'm interested in free to play games, but only if they don't constantly nag for money. Something like Fire Emblem Heroes in the early days struck a good balance of not punishing a free player.

Thank you for the suggestions!

Best answer: Some games I've played & enjoyed on Android:
  • Goat Simulator - Play as a goat, cause mayhem. It's a goofy enough game that the touchscreen controls don't affect the experience.
  • Reigns - Replayable card-based RPG, with nice short runs. Not combat based; more about finding new interactions.
  • Solitairica - A deck-building RPG, with a lot of different unlockable classes and things - I think it's one of the best in the genre.
  • Battle of Polytopia - A 4x game with, again, nice short play sessions and easy-to-understand gameplay.
  • Monument Valley and Monument Valley 2 are both great 3d puzzle games, with a nice relaxing vibe.
  • Pixel Dungeon - A pretty standard roguelike dungeon crawler, which has been expanded quite a bit in terms of complexity over the years.
Of those, I think the only one I paid for was Goat Simulator. The rest are a lot of fun played for free, and a few do offer paid character classes/modes once you've gone through the main product.

Best answer: Nintendo's free-to-play options are all awesome. I don't know how I would have made it through this pandemic without animal crossing pocket camp (which has been getting better reviews than the switch version.. mostly because you can choose which animals are at your camp and also because the items are mostly cooler)
You might like Dragalia Lost ('card' based RPG/autochess mechanics) despite the fact that it's so damn.. booby. (Including lots of contortionist ladies who can show you their boobs and ass at the same time.) *sigh" I've just been taking a cue from the title and assuming they are all 'Drag' queens with a side hustle in silicone padding. I assume the character designs are targeting 13 year olds who are still nursing for some reason. Other than /all that/ it's really fun and there's free online multiplayer too. Oh and all the dragons are cool.
I've been playing both of those on the ipad tho and they definitely benefit from a bigger screen.
I just got a new phone (galaxy A71... Sweet!) though and what's really impressed me is Mario Kart Tour.. omg the graphics are amazing. It looks like the switch version. And it has all the same tracks AND there's free online multiplayer. There's some restrictions from the switch version, like you can't pick any track, just the 30 or so in the current 2-week 'tour', the races are 2 laps instead of 3, but they did just add landscape mode (you have to turn it on in the menu) and that's awesome.
Nintendo is really nailing the free-to-play space right now, I think because they can. They're Nintendo, any game they release immediately gets like a billion users, so they can afford to be much more generous with the free stuff. I did sign up for a monthly subscription to mario kart, but probably just for this month to help fill out my collection of karts and drivers (it's like 3 or 4 dollars a month and you get double prizes, mostly rubies which you need to draw more cards). I've also thrown maybe $10 at Animal Crossing in the last 4 months, mostly just because I thought I should pay . something, but also because they came out with like 15 different fish tanks and omg the little puffer fish is like /tactically/ cute. Like military-grade cute. I don't know what your 'cute resistance' level is like, but it will be tested. ;)
I haven't even found a need to pay for anything in Dragalia Lost yet, though I strongly suspect they have overstocked me in upgrade crystals and the like at the beginning. The most 'nagging' they do to get you in the store is give you 30 free items a day to get you there. Not really nagging at all, just free stuff. There's lots of online stuff that's free too, leagues and stuff, you can borrow friends spells for raids etc. The character/team building mechanics are all pretty cool, there's tons of different treasure, and the graphics are great (The character drawings may be sexist as hell, but they're extraordinarily well done :/) Definitely give it a try.

PacMan256 has been on my last 3 phones... It's like endless runner pacman and you also have powers, like electrical shocks and bombs. It doesn't do anything online, so I play it on the subway a lot.

2nding Battle of Polytopia - I love a nice simple tactics game, and this p. great! Check out the trailer, that'll be enough to tell you if it'll click for you, I think. Play through the free classes and if you like the game at all, you will definitely find the additional pay classes to be worthwhile. Doesn't nag for money. I've sunk dozens of hours into it on my bus commute/being lazy on the couch/waiting in the drs. office/etc.
