My kingdom for a swimsuit

I’ve realized my swim top is old and I’d like to replace it. The problem is I basically want a sports bra cut with a cute pattern that fits me and they don’t seem to sell those very many places. Help me find those places?

Complications are basically that I’m a small person with big boobs. Swimsuits that fit over the boobs are too small under the boobs. I want support and sporty rather than sexy. My chest measurement was 34 in and my bra size is 28FF or 30DDD. I think I’d prefer sports bra length but tankinis also acceptable. I’m queer so cool butch queer brands are good too but sporty femme brands and non queer brands are fine too. The main thing is supporting the boobs that swimsuit companies tend not to leave room for. Thank you!!

As a small person with a large chest- I usually wear a 32G- I have had very good luck with Freya swim tops, which usually have underwire, are sold by real bra size and go down to a 30 band.

TomboyX's swim line seems pretty perfect for what you want. I am also a small person with a large chest very close to your size (I usually wear 30E bras) and I have been living in their crossover sports bra, so you should be able to trust the size chart for swimwear.

Best answer: Take a look at Athleta- they have a good variety of tops.

Title 9 is all about the sporty femme aesthetic and has a ton of cute swimsuits including some with cup sizes up to DDD.

This is a very specific recommendation, but if you happen to live in Southern California or Atlanta, you want the brick and mortar store, Jenette Bras, which sells swimwear too.

Bravissimo is all about fitting bigger boobs, with tons of sizes with smaller bands. They might not be your style but they should have your size. It’s a UK company but now has a US store and has easy US shipping. I also 2nd Title9 for style... but I’ve always found their size range limited.

I would just suggest looking the division between a sports bra and a swim top as "suggestions" rather than rules. I just finished wearing this longline sports bra as a bathing suit for a week at the beach and loved it.

A few notes:

- I think "longline" or "long line" as search terms might get more outerwear/crop top looking tops.

- This was a thin-ish material that was very similar to bathing suit material, and not the traditional thicker knit material that a lot of earlier sports bras were made of. So I'd look at the materials section carefully.

- This is listed as a low-support sports bra, but was still more supportive than any bathing suit top I've worn.

(Disclaimer - this specific top may not work for you - I've got smaller boobs, and a larger rib cage, but I'd still investigate the world of sports bras.)

Have you looked at Herroom.com? You can filter out by size. Most of it is sexy!sexy!sexy! but there are a few that are more sporty too.

Best answer: I'm queer with a similar build/aesthetic and I have never in my life worn a swimsuit that brought me actual joy until I bought this one from Beefcake. I love it so so so so so so much.

Best answer: Beefcake Swimwear might be worth looking at.

And two more I've seen on the Qwear fashion blog: Gabifresh Swimsuits For All makes pretty, femme swimsuits. Outplay makes a range of gender neutral clothing including swimwear compression tops.

The unisuits from TomboyX are awesome but do not have lining in the chest area so if you do not want very visible boobs you will need to wear something underneath. I have not tried their swim tops, however. Beefcake is also awesome.

Response by poster: Merricat Blackwood does your beefcake suit work without the extra lining in the chest area? I was looking at their striped one but I’m worried about visible nipples.

According to their website, the beefcake suits have a: “Fully lined front for great coverage.”

Response by poster: In case anyone else is looking for a similar suit, I ended up buying something from Carve Designs. Thanks all!
