unPOP gmail autosaved drafts!

When I'm writing an email using Gmail, every draft version of it ends up on my BlackBerry because of the autosave feature. If I take my time writing, this can add up to an insane number of drafts popping up, and drives me batty. How can I prevent this from happening without switching POP access on and off manually, and without disabling autosave?

Why not compose the letter in another editor, then paste it into gmail?

How about telling blackberry not to check every one minute?

I have gmail forward to my blackberry account instead of using POP to access it directly. That way I get all of my inbox messages (or whatever else you want to forward) in 1 minute, but not the rest.
