Baby's first Bob Ross painting

What's an easy Bob Ross painting/episode to attempt, for someone who's never painted before?

I'm quarantining with my parents right now and I thought it would be fun if my dad and I attempted to paint along with an old Bob Ross episode. I used to love watching them as a little kid but never actually tried one.

I have never painted in my entire life and I have zero artistic ability! My dad has painted on and off throughout his life. We have canvases, easels, SOME paint, and a couple old crappy paintbrushes. Nothing fancy.

I know these episodes are allegedly easy and anyone can do them but.... they look hard to me! Can anyone recommend a super easy basic one that doesnt need a thousand different paint colors? Looks like all the episodes are available on youtube.

For the limited color issue, I know he did one episode in which he only painted in tones of gray, for colorblind people! https://youtu.be/I-ousb8-SD0

(Sorry for not linking, I'm on mobile.)

I think any of his episodes would be fun to try if you approach it with ye olde Bob Ross attitude of no mistakes, only happy accidents. Who cares if they look like a kindergartner did them, the important thing is you have fun bonding time with your dad and got to play with some paint!

Someone else asked this question on that other website a few years ago, some of those answers might be useful to you.

This Huffpo article is about a database of Bob Ross paintings which includes a Getting Started section that recommends starting with "The Grandeur of Summer."

What a cool thing to do with your dad. Happy painting :D

My Girl Scouts just did a Bob Ross paint-along for an on-line meeting. We did this episode, Cliffside (Season 20 Episode 6), which was pretty easy and amusing.
