In search of obscure 80s song about Rubik’s cube

It’s been gnawing at me for some time, this fading memory of a quirky, silly song about one man’s obsession with his Rubik’s cube. The male voice is monotone but a screeching female voice cuts in periodically with “put down that cube!” I don’t remember enough of the other lyrics. If it helps, I was in Bradenton, Florida and the local radio station played it often. I’d love to hear it again and share with others.

Mr. Rubik by The Barron Knights? It doesn't 100% match your recollection, but there is screeching towards the end.

"This Rubik Cube is Driving Me Crazy!" by Crazy Davis (comedy alter ego of Eric Drysdale)? (Alternate: Thread Reader.) Clip is of solo Comedy Central's Premium Blend stand-up performance in 2000; wondering if an earlier recorded version has the "put down that cube" refrain.

Best answer: It's Cubic Refugee by Stevens and Grdnic! I found the name of the song in the Dr. Demento database but haven't yet found it on Youtube.
