Creating Finder icons for video files on a Mac (Catalina)?

Is there a way to create preview icons in the Finder for video files on a Mac with Catalina installed? In the latest version of Mac OS the icons for video files in formats like .wmv and .avi have become just general icons rather than being a visual preview. I don't think that this is currently supported by Apple itself, but is there any third-party software that can accomplish this?

QL-Video used to do the job, but it doesn't work in Catalina. If anyone else has figured it out I'd like to know too.

Does this process, using, say, a screenshot you've taken from the video, not work?
