Hmm, don't know if it's authentic, but I had a tasty cannoli at Calo, on Clark a few blocks north of Foster, in Andersonville. Everything I've ever eaten at that restaurant has been phenomenal.

Pompei on Wellington and Sheffield (just off the Brown Line Wellington stop or 2 blocks south of the Red Line Belmon stop). YUM.

Since I live in Andersonville, that's perfect. I have been there (long ago) but never had a cannoli or knew they had them.

Thanks for the tip, although I'm feeling a bit "duh!" now...

I'm being a pedant, and you can beat me for it, but I just wanted to mention that "cannoli" is already plural (like ravioli or spaghetti), so you can just say "they have great cannoli", or "I'll take a dozen cannoli".

I'm gathering up my beating implements right now. Grammar and spelling corrections are rather annoying.

What if you only want a single canole?

I'll accept the beating. I do some correcting, but I also appreciate being corrected. This one comes from growing up in a community with a lot of Italian-Americans who corrected me plenty on this one.

Don't feel bad Miko. I used to confuse canolli with cannelloni.

(canolli = cannoli)

Did anyone spell it "canolli"?

(I did. I'm correcting myself)

Don't confuse them with cannellini. You might suddenly find yourself inexplicably eating a delicious cassoulet.
