Has anyone read a book where a woman awakens to find a man hovering in the air, a few inches above her body (in bed), and mouthing or whispering the words, "I'm so, (so) sorry"? Book most likely published in the last decade, and is possibly a (non-fiction) collection of anecdotes involving ghosts, aliens, and the like. Thanks!

Could this have been The Time Traveler's Wife?

I don't remember any floating happening in that book, but I do remember something along the sentiment and phrasing may have been described.

Response by poster: Thanks for your suggestion, WtP, but the man was definitely hovering (after descending, in a horizontal position, from near to the ceiling). He is mouthing those words because he has no control over what is happening, and is aware of how freaked out the woman is to awaken to find a strange man hovering mere inches above her.

The author of the book is, I believe, male.
