Beat Saber recommendations

Finally picked up Beat Saber and am having a grand old time. If I never hear hunna-dolla-bills again I will be just fine with that. Up my game with some sweeter hits. Difficulty: old

I installed a mod (am on steam) that lets me search songs. Purchasing songs isn’t an option at the moment. The search is pretty difficult to use, I can’t ever think of a song to search for and then there’s also a lot of crap. Also everything is really difficult, even the few that have normal level included. Help me!

Please suggest good songs to beat saber to, ideally that are a bit older that I might find on a search. Artist and song titles are good, specific beatsaber search titles even better. I like to play in a way that involves big movements rather than twitchy wrists, which is why hard and expert doesn’t suit great.

I am also open to suggestions such as “make your own tracks” if this is the only way I can get, for example, nine-to-five as a track. Perhaps I installed a shitty mod? It doesn’t let me preview the audio before download or sort my searches, I can only sort the toplist etc. is there one that lets me screen by available modes or something?

Best answer: The custom BS community is pretty heavily focused on high-level play, but there is such a plethora of custom tracks that there are a number with more that just Expert+++++ difficulties.

I assume you're using the Beat Saver downloader from Mod Assistant (if not, then definitely use that one).
Have you used the Beat Saver website to search aside from the in-game downloader? While there is no ability to sort by difficulties unfortunately, you can quickly see which songs have what difficulties supported.

BeastSaber has a more robust search function that can filter genre and difficulty, but seems to rely on user tagging and so has not very many results for filtered searches, but will let you be more specific.

Best answer: Sounds like we have similar tastes in saber songs! I like older or older-sounding music that has clever or flow-y tracks rather than pure speed. Browsing through Beat Saver right now, here are some tracks that I really enjoy that have multiple difficulty levels (titles mostly copy-pasted so they should work as search terms):

Disney songs make surprisingly good Saber tracks:
I'll Make A Man Out Of You - Mulan
I Just Can't Wait To Be King - Lion King OST
Under The Sea (Little Mermaid)

Pop songs:
Mr. Blue Sky | Electric Light Orchestra
Shut Up and Dance - WALK THE MOON
Some Nights - Fun.
Earth, Wind & Fire - September
Uptown Funk - Mark Ronson
The Final Countdown - Europe
Boulevard of Broken Dreams - Green Day
Pentatonix - Daft Punk Medley

I also love most tracks by Avicii even though he's not my jam outside of the game.

Not sure if this is the same thing that subocoyne is linking to, but there's a free beatsaber app that has many more song options, and also has a setting that enables you to punch the tiles rather than slice them.

In your headset, go to the browser and type in beatsaber.io. In the lower corner you'll see a headset icon, click that and it makes the game quest compatible.

I prefer the environment on this app to that on the official quest beatsaber app in addition to the much greater variety of music it offers.
