Telephone announcements

Is there a telephone number provider like kall8.com than can let me record WAVs on my computer, upload them, and store them as telephone announcements?

I run a service that uses voice announcements extensively. Unfortunately I have to deal all the time with hunching over and speaking into a crappy answering machine microphone, and hope that it's not too distorted. I want to use a nice microphone and concentrate on my delivery and my information, and post that as a telephone announcement.

I know one solution is to use a computer voicemodem, but I really prefer to use a telephony service company as I get a lot more flexibility that way. Unfortunately they usually require that I record announcements through the telephone, which equates to crappy quality.

Any ideas here? Am I stuck with having to use a voicemodem?

If you're currently using an answering machine, what about getting one that has a line-in and simply hooking it up to the line-out or headphone jack from your computer?

Then you can record and re-record to your heart's content on the computer before sending it to the machine.

Just thought I'd suggest that since you seemed to leap from "crappy answering machine microphone" to "online telephony service" while skipping a lot of possibilities in between.

Right, but there's other reasons at play... one being that I don't want the telco installing a dedicated line (this is a seasonal service). With a telephony service I can put it on a clock to tie up my home line during the day, then go to recordings all night. This is why I ask if any of the voicemail/telephony companies can do this.

I have been using Ring Central since September and I am very impressed with the service. Although I record all my messages over the phone, they say that you can also record message with a microphone attached to your computer, or upload pre-recorded wave files.
