Hairstyles to cover stitches on hairline?

I have a few stitches on my hairline, right in the center. I have to keep them covered in Vaseline for the next two weeks. It's not cute. Already looking into hats and stretchy headbands. Need advice on hair styles (feminine) for long hair.

I'm aware of hats and stretchy headbands.

Hats aren't really appropriate for my office, they give me a headache, and they don't look good on me. (My office is really casual but I wore a hat today and I'd rather not wear one again.) Also looking into stretchy headbands, although they might be a little painful.

I thought a crown braid might work but when I looked at pictures, the hairline is typically exposed. I'm still going to experiment with this though.

And ideas for helping the middle of my hairline covered? My hair is long-ish (armpit length) and straight, no bangs. I'm a woman with a lazy feminine-of-center look.

you could get clip on bangs as a hairpiece to attach further back from your hairline? cheaper ones will be obviously fake-looking though. but otherwise anything you cover the stitches with (headbands, hats, etc), as well as any kind of hairstyles that pull on your hairline, like a the crown braid, will irritate the stitches and slow down the healing time.

could you do a sort of faux swoop bang thing? Kind of push your hair forward a bit, then over to the side and secure at the side with a bobby pin or something? If you google how to fake side-swept bangs you can find a few tutorial ideas..

There are ways to fake having bangs that wouldn't require you putting anything restrictive on your stitches, if you're good at styling (I am not).

Also you could ask your doctor if you can cover it with dermablend or similar while you're at work

Side swept faux bangs! or clip-in bangs.

Scarves? Something like the turban look on this page (not actual turban) would look good with longish hair and can cover the forehead without being tight. It's also a pretty normal indoor look. A few more options here. It's a good way to introduce color to your look. Otherwise side swept bangs (and you can secure with a few small clips) is probably the least intrusive way to work through this transition period.

A "traditional" crown braid is worn further back on the head so that the hairline is exposed but you can push the braid forward so that it's more like a headband.

The finished look in this tutorial is what I'm thinking of but I don't think I would follow these instructions. Just braid your hair into two pig tails and cross them so one covers your hair line rather than further back. Or you could try something like this.

Or a deep side part so your hair swoops across your forehead? I'm thinking specifically like number 20 here but there's a few good ideas at this link.

Seconding Mrs. Rattery: deep side part, secured with barrette.

I am in love with scarves. My hair is about as long as yours, and I can rock the Valerie Harper look.
