Backpack handle repair - shoe repair shop?

I have a backpack where the top faux-leather handle is coming unstitched from the backpack at one end. I want to get it reattached. Is this something a shoe repair place would do?

There's one where I'm going to be today, but getting to a tailor or bag repair shop would be a whole trip somewhere out of the way.

Best answer: Yeah it is, so there's no harm in asking.

Best answer: My shoe repair guy did a handbag for me and a jacket - if yours is like mine then absolutely yes. I'd bring it by and ask.

Best answer: definitely worth a try. They might tell you no, in that case just try another shoe repair shop.
