Who are the oldest men and women still widely considered sexy?

Who is the oldest man still widely considered sexy?

I'm looking for well-known names, so it's probably not worth mentioning that hunky uncle you have...

Some examples might be Sean Connery (76), Harrison Ford (64) or Paul McCartney (64). These seem to be the "obvious" choices to me. Are there any equally obvious choices for oldest sexy woman?

I think Lena Horne has aged more gracefully than any woman in the history of the world. She still looks gorgeous -- at 86! My hands down winner, for both extreme age and extreme beauty.

Yeah, hands down Paul Newman: the best-looking octegenarian alive. (digresion: matteo is spot-on about all-time winner Samuel Beckett, though -- jesus, that man had cheekbones to die for. And his mentor, James Joyce, was awfully handsome too up till the day he died, though of course poor dirty Jimmy never made it to his 80s.)

I'll also second Clint Eastwood, Sean Connery, Patrick Stewart, and Ben Kingsley.

As for musicians over 50, my heart still races for David Bowie (59) and Tim Finn (54).

not to digress, but I once (late 1980's) had a friend -- then in her late teens -- who was madly, obsessively in love with Beckett, and she always mentioned how she just wanted to go to Paris, stalk Beckett (a real ladies man in his youth), throw herself at him in her most fertile day of the month and somehow manage to get pregnant with the great man's love child.

about a year after that, Beckett died.

I haven't seen her since, but -- she had the most amazingly steely blue eyes I have ever seen -- I sometimes like to think that shortly before Beckett's death her plan worked, and now there's a 15-year-old with steel blue eyes and Beckett's DNA walking on this earth

Patrick Stewart gets my vote too. When my girlfriends and I get to talking about who is still a sexy old man, he always comes up number 1. Harrison Ford was also mentioned, and yeah, he's still hot too.

However, my ultimate sexy old man vote goes to Rutger Hauer. Drop dead gorgeous when he was young, he's still go it at 62, and as long as those amazing blue eyes keep twinkling, he'll still have it 98!

Good stuff! I had overlooked Paul Newman and Patrick Stewart completely. It seems like the female choice is somewhat more down to personal preference though. I suppose we as a society don't have well defined criteria for what it means for an old woman to be attractive like we do for old men.
