Motion sensor I can install in my car that will call my cell phone?

Looking for an auto security system comprised of a small sensing unit inside or attached to the car, which would use an Android app so my cell phone would alarm if anything bumps or impacts the vehicle. Does such exist?

For a home brewed solution, a raspberry pi with vibration sensor tethered to a hotspot-capable phone with cheap mobile access purchased from Ting, and the two devices plugged into a power pack that you'd charge when driving?

Surely there's an app for that. Cell phones these days have a shake sensor....

Here's an app you can build yourself:

A quick google for "car alarm that will call you" gave me this.

Response by poster: Thanks for opening me up to possibilities which sent me down some interesting paths but it looks like I should visit my local auto stereo & security shop and see what they have. I'll report back soon.
