Where can I get a raised view of 6th ave in Midtown?

I’m looking to get a raised vantage point to photograph a march on 6th Avenue, between 42nd Street and 59th Street. Any suggestions? Doesn’t have to be very high. Anything even a story or two in the air is good, e.g. rooftop restaurant, raised park or plaza, multi-story store etc. thanks!

Actually a somewhat challenging question, as much of that stretch is skyscrapers, sometimes with plazas in front.

Top of the Rock is right there, but might be too high?

There's a rooftop bar called Haven on W. 47th between 6th and 7th, but not sure if it gives you the correct perspective. You could call and ask.

P.S. Stop and get the lamb on the south side of 45th and 6th (Kwik Meal). Your heart may regret it but your tastebuds won't.

Does it need to be open-air? Would shooting through a closed window be unacceptable?

Response by poster: Window is fine.

Second story of the Whole Foods at Bryant Park? One of the upper floors of Kinokuniya?

Isn't Kinokuniya further down the side of the park?

Kinokuniya is next(?) to the Whole Foods on Sixth. That said, being on 40th or 42nd looking over Bryant Park towards Sixth might be better.

Oh, oops, I see. The northern edge of Bryant Park is 42nd.

There's an Indikitch around 46th that has 2nd floor seating (not a table service place - seat yourself type setup) - there may be a few other food places like that. Also there might be something in the Hilton further up 6th? Worth checking out.
