Help me remember an 80s kids' show...

I'm trying to remember the name of a tv show I used to watch every Sunday morning back in the early to mid 80s. It was a news format/reality show, which featured kids reporting about other kids. I believe there was some kind of clock or minute theme, with a countdown stopwatch between breaks (yes, like 60 minutes). In the NY area, it was on channel 2 (CBS).

Ring any bells? Any idea what it was called? I'm not finding anything on google.

From the link: Even the educational stuff was entertaining ... anyone who grew up in the '70s can recite the preamble to the Constitution, but only if they're allowed to sing it, as learned from the legendary "Schoolhouse Rock" bumpers on ABC. CBS had "In the News," short features about current events that played like "5 Minutes" (instead of 60) for youngsters.

Could it have been "Kids are People Too"? It was ABC, and a little earlier, but it was what first came to mind given your description.

Another possibility is The Big Blue Marble. But the above suggestions sound more likely to me.

Definitely not Kids Are Ppl Too (although I loved that one)

"In the News" sounds right format-wise, but the name doesn't ring a ball. But maybe "30 Minutes"?

I totally remember the weird, spaced-out beginning of The Big Blue Marble, but yeah, that was a little different (and on PBS?)

ANyone actually remember watching this show? I think it had lots of sports segments.

Not sure if this made it up to NY bue was it Candy Apple News Company out of Philadelphia. Best site I could find about the show. Came on after Starstuff- show about kids in space.
