Is Apple certification a thing?

I'm currently studying for the Sec+ and Network+ exams and it got me wondering about Apple certifications. I've been using Apple products for over 30 years and know the ins-and-outs of the every OS back to system 6. It got me thinking about whether certifications for Apple products are a thing and lo and behold I found Apple's cert site but it looks like the certs are to be become a technician to fix Apple hardware. It seems like a no-brainer that I would get certified with OS X, networking, security etc with Apple products but do the certs have any value in the real world?

Best answer: Non-hardware Apple certifications are at a different site.

The Apple Certified Support Professional exam is ridiculously easy and won't impress anyone except HR departments and recruiters — of course, a lot of the time those are the people you need to impress. I know I got a lot more replies to my job applications once I was able to put "Apple Certified Support Professional" on my resume. Just don't expect to impress anyone with it once you get the job.

Response by poster: Oh yeah, I totally get that. I'm definitely just looking for a way to make my resume look a little better and also catch the eye of recruiters. I've been using Macs on a nearly daily basis for 25 years. Seems like a no-brainer to get a cert to prove it.

Best answer: There's a #certification-talk channel on the MacAdmins Slack.

There is a Mac Integration Basics exam, that you can take at home. It hasn't been updated for macOS 10.14 yet. It's a great way to start your Apple-cert journey. (Not overly expensive, official, and relatively convenient testing options.)

There's a nice study-guide app called Revise IT, too.
