I have my own 1-800# What do I do with it?

I purchased a 1-844 number for my business. Big scheme of things, I don't really need it. A strong majority of my business id done via email, but was able to get a number using the name of my company, so I picked it up. I was told that the number has to be at least 'parked' somewhere and I just can't hold onto it for months or years and do nothing with it. Ideally, I'd like to have it be able to forward to my cell phone, with the option to turn on/off the forwarding at will. (mainly business hours).....When the forwarding is turned off, i want the number to go to a dedicated voice mail system for my business only and to not share my personal greeting /voicemail on my cell.. can anyone recommend any services... The Free'er, the better....As of now, it is not imperative to my business dealings, but when it is viable, I'd love to have something in place. Thanks

Can you park it and use it with obitalk.com and their $49 device (or no hardware at all)?

Could you set up a Google Voice for it?

Twilio will let you port a number and forward it and do all sorts of nifty API things with it. I pay $1.00 a month to have a number in another area code forwarded to my phone.

I've had toll free numbers with Callcentric and voip.ms, though the numbers were acquired from the respective providers. I suspect either one would be happy to tell you what you'd need to do to get your number on their platform. Like essentially every decent VoIP provider, they have an easy interface to set/change call handling in various ways and provide voicemail.
