What's wrong with my light table?

There's a light table in my classroom that has been acting up lately. What can I do to fix it?

It had been working fine up until a few weeks ago. The lamps go into this cycle where they slowly light up, shut off, slowly light up, shut off, etc. It's the type that takes TL-D fluorescent lamps (the lamps themselves are not the problem). It's obviously unplugged now. Any thoughts on how to fix it?

Best answer: It's the ballast. Pretty easy to replace.
