A friend found this strange parcel of land in Oasis, Nevada, on Google Maps. What is/was it?

Long Canyon gold mine is in that area as well as other mines (I think). I wonder if it has something to do with mining?

Off the main road is a label of Big Springs, which appears to have been a mining operation. I'm guessing that the feature you are looking at were pads for parking trailers or mobile homes for the workers.f

Response by poster: Thanks all. The pulloffs didn’t look big enough to accommodate vehicles, but I guess my sense of perspective is skewed.

I measured some of the pads using google maps, they seem to be about 50 ft across. It is an interesting find.
