What are some of the most amazing and/or trippy graphics display software of today?
I have a damn powerful GPU and a stellar CPU hooked up to my stunning 55" TV, easily capable of running in 4K 60Hz. What are some cool programs that will knock my socks off and leave me mouth-agape on my couch at the crazy wild neat beautiful real-time-generated graphics?
The granddaddy of 'em all is of course Milkdrop 2 running in WinAmp. I already have like a million added presets for that and it is indeed truly amazing. But it's 12 years old now and I can't help but thinking some new up-and-comers have expanded on these ideas and made new graphic software leveraging the newer technologies in modern GPUs to make cool stuff I've never seen before.
I'm aware of ElectricSheep but seems like it's only a screensaver, is low res by today's standards, and pushes a subscription model. I'll be checking it out but not overly enthused about its model.
Back in the day we had stuff like the demoscene, AcidWarp, Cthugha, the mathier FractInt and all sorts of little eyecandy programs who's primary raison d'ĂȘtre was pushing cool pixels to a computer screen. What are the modern standouts of the genre, or where is the community to go find them?
My primary platform is Win10 64, but don't limit answer to that platform if there's something I should see.
